LISA ALBAN ELLISEN

E-RYT 200, RYT 500, Baptiste Certified,
owner of Soul Yoga

I teach yoga because it makes me a better person. I own a yoga studio because it may just make the world a better place. My fist yoga class was a “have to,” my employer made me go. I hated it. I hurt. I cried. I hated myself. 

 

Now, 22 years later, I can honestly say, most days, I like who I am and believe whole heartedly in what I am doing. 

 

Baron Baptiste has been my biggest influence. The yoga I teach is powerful, physical and applicable to daily life. I believe we all need tools to help us be more resilient, more flexible and just better people. Yoga has provided me with those tools, as have my two kids, my family, my pets and my students. Without them I wouldn’t have had the courage to step outside the box that I had so confidently secured myself in.

 

The students I hope to teach are anyone with a body, a story and desire to get to know their best self. I can’t wait to meet you on the mat!

TOD CERUTI

200 hour Baptiste Certified

Tod found yoga in 2014 and immediately felt the positive effects both physically and mentally. The combination of lifting weights and yoga helped take away the aches and pains of growing up playing sports and the wear and tear of life.
 

Tod is a 200 hr Baptiste Certified teacher, has attended Level 1, Level 2 and Art of Assisting with the Baptiste Institute and has even assisted a Level 1 program! He is also influenced by the teachings of Dharma Mittra and Lisa Ellisen.
 

Tod wants to share his passion and love of yoga with everyone!

CLAY B. DAULTON

Clay B. Daulton is a meditation teacher and speaker in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. In

addition to twenty years of personal practice, he holds a B.A. in South Asian Religion from UC

Santa Barbara and master’s work in Buddhist Studies from Maitripa College. His work has been

published in academic journals in Religious Studies and in foreign press. He moderates a lively

NANCY FREY

I was initially drawn to yoga because it was a great workout, and I always felt rejuvenated afterward.
I soon discovered the deeper
connection to the breath, movement and positive effect on my energy, and knew I wanted more!

 

My inspiration for your yoga experience is for you to find balance and feel centered in your world - on or off the mat. Yoga sequences warm your body, ground your energy to the earth, nurture your soul and calm your mind. With the correct alignment and sequencing of each pose, your energy moves freely and connects your movements with your breath. This nurturing and healing practice leaves you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, spacious, balanced and centered.

 

Influenced by my teachers Amy Sullivan, Janae Martin Janet Stone, Jenn Russo, and inspired by my dog Moxy’s perfect downward facing dogs every day.

 

Classes are uplifting, fluid, and infused with fun and lively music.

 

RYT 200 Yoga Alliance Certified, participated in Being of Power with Baron Baptiste, Art of Assisting with Janet Stone, and was featured in Wine Enthusiast Magazine Online, 4/6/17.

NATALIE FAIRBROOK

I first came to yoga in 2015 when I had given up drinking as I came to a place in my life where I realized it was no longer serving me or my higher good – I was not living my best life. It was a difficult transition and I knew I needed to find a practice of some kind to keep me grounded and help get into better shape. What I found in yoga was so much more than that! I found a way to de-stress from the ups and downs of life, to quiet my monkey mind, and to just be and breathe. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully, both on and off my mat. Pair that with the incredible and welcoming community and I was sold! My hope is that you too will find some of the many beautiful and helpful parts of yoga as well.

 

I am not very athletic or flexible and honestly there are still many poses I have not yet mastered, but I bring playfulness and fun with a dose of spiritual philosophy and invited introspection (for on and off your mat) into the practice. 

 

I received my 200 hour yoga training at Soul Yoga in Santa Rosa. I teach a range of styles from power vinyasa to slow flow to heart-opening recovery style yoga (we are all in recovery from something). From my classes you can expect a mindful sequence to open up the body, and deep, full breathing and feeling. You can also expect the space to honor your intentions and your body however it may show up, day-to-day. Classes are for the beginner to the more advanced yogi and modifications always offered and welcomed.

 

Come as you are with a beginner’s mind and expand your practice and have some fun while you are at it! Namaste. 

SUSAN LESLIE

Kids Yoga Teacher, 500 hr RYT

Susan is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. In addition to adult yoga, she is a certified Childrens Yoga instructor, and has a  BA in Psychology. Susan finds yoga enhances our compassion, confidence and creativity. She’s passionate about the benefits of yoga as a transformative practice deepening both internal and external strength. Yoga promotes inner ease, giving us clarity to share authentically. She’s grateful to share her love of yoga.

SHOSHANA HEBSHI

200 hour RYT

Shoshana shapes her vinyasa classes according to the needs of her students. As a triathlete, many of her classes are strong, but they can be gentle and restorative as well. She sees yoga as a path toward greater body awareness and wellness and is inspired when she sees that lights shine in others that was ignited for her.

PAMELA SAUERS

LAc, 500 hour RYT

Pam's love of yoga began in Alaska in 1998. She was initially drawn to the physicality of the practice but was transformed by the deep sense of balance she experienced on her mat and realized she was meant to share this profound practice. She is deeply grateful to the many wonderful teachers she has studied with and the enormous gifts and lessons that yoga continues to bring to her life. Pam primarily teaches Power and Vinyasa Flow classes. Her classes are creative, playful and challenging.

ARIANA BATES

200 hour RYT

In Ariana's class you can expect a Baptiste Vinyasa Flow for all levels. Ariana teaches with love, care, spirit, spunk and light. She is committed to challenging her students and giving them space to grow. Arianna received her 200 hr RYT at Soul with Expand Your Power in 2017. She is currently volunteering at an animal sanctuary in Santa Rosa.

SUSAN LOPEZ

200 hour RYT

I came to yoga from a dancer’s point of view. I needed something to keep me moving and flexible as taking a daily ballet class and commuting was getting more difficult. I took my first yoga class about 10 years ago. I hated it but I thought I would give it another try. After my husband retired we started going to yoga class together. He encouraged me to go with him. Eventually we found Lisa and Soul Yoga. We were hooked. I took my first teacher training with Lisa in 2016 and my second teaching training in the Baptiste style in 2018. After I retired in 2017 from owning my own ballet studio and teaching dance for 30 years it was not my intention to become a yoga teacher. When Lisa asked me to teach an early morning class I thought I would give it a try. I am surprised that I enjoy teaching yoga as much as I do. I teach a vinyasa style class as well as a power yoga. Most classes are with music.

DANA FALLS

MFT, 200 hour RYT

I am a psychotherapist with years of experience helping others battle ingrained patterns of negative thinking and behavior. I found myself going to yoga class to try to relax and “re boot” my emotional energy for my work and my life. What I maintained then and now is that the brain transforms when we practice anything repeatedly whether it’s negative or positive.

The key word here is, “practice.” As a psychotherapist, I was not making the impact I wanted by simply talking about it. I began to think of yoga as medicine that I wanted to share with my clients. I started to use bits and pieces of yoga in my sessions to help clients calm their nervous systems so they could be more “available” to the therapy discussions. It proved to be an exciting combination that I wanted more of. That lead to teaching yoga in the community. It doesn’t matter if we can’t explain the magic that happens on the mat as long as we experience it!

EZRA MARTIN

Ezra has been practicing and teaching Strength Training, Yoga, Pilates, Kick boxing, Zumba, and Boot Camp fitness for the past 20 plus years. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2000 with a degree in Kinesiology. Her teaching style is influenced by a wide variety of master instructors and her approach is very personal, professional and thorough. Her clients and students often comment that Ezra has an amazing skill for understanding injury and this allows her to rehabilitate through safe movement. 

 

Ezra has worked with countless students at major fitness chains, as well boutique studios in the Los Angles Area. Ezra then moved to MendocinoCounty in 2001 where she continued private training, group training and instructing.

All of these passions led to a Buti certification in 2016.  

 

Drawing from her knowledge  of anatomy, movement, and fitness she strives to create an intense workouts to allow students to learn about their own bodies and work at their maximum level. By creating fun, crazy, and challenging workouts Ezra motivates each student to reach their full potential in class and transfer those skills into their everyday life.
